Live Music Week

Every once in a while the two worlds of fortnightly jazz and monthly open mic collide, and together they make 'Live Music Week' (dramatic sounds)...

Starting tomorrow with our long running #TheWaddesdonJazzClub organised by drummer Steve Vintner of Incognito fame and regular session player with some of the best artists in the country, Steve has a contact book the size of the London yellow pages! January 5th brings us Steve and Tom Mark on Bass (another regular) as well as the legendary Richard Exall on Sax and Rob Terry on Piano. You would spend many a hard penny to see any of these guys who regularly play at the countries finest jazz establishments and we have them here for you free of charge so please do come and enjoy this fantastic regular event....

And then on Wednesday 6th we have our monthly #openmic night which sees many talented individuals build their confidence playing in front of a crowd. If you sing, or play the guitar, piano, violin or even just a harmonica do come on down, stick your name on the list and give it a go! There are always others here willing to play with you if you just want to sing and its your first time too...

We are ok!!

We have slightly over-smoked our mackerel in our outhouse today and as a result had to evacuate the pub. We will definitely be closed until 4pm today Wednesday 16th December but open for normal service after that....

many thanks

This coming Tuesday brings another fine instalment of The Waddesdon Jazz Club.

With 'Rico Tomasso' on Trumpet - Rico was lucky enough to play trumpet for the great Louis Armstrong when he visited Britain. He recalls Louis as 'a lightning stroke of joy'. Louis was enthralled by Rico and they remained dear friends. You can watch a video of Rico here -

With Jack Honeybourne on Piano - Jack is true legend of the UK Jazz scene, who in his varied career has accompanied very many British and American artistes, including Vera Lynn for whom he was pianist and musical director for over 19 years.

And with #TWJC regulars - Steve Vintner on Drums and Tom Mark on Bass

You can book a table now using our online booking system (where you can view our current offers such as a free glass of prosecco) or call 01296 651320 now..

We look forward to another fantastic evening...

Live music week

We're going to be updating our own blog from now on as Facebook seems destined on only informing our guests (or people who have liked our page) whats going on, IF we pay them each time which is pretty disappointing because we always have LOADS to tell you!

So if you came through from social media please tap the 'subscribe via e-mail' link down the bottom to keep updated with all that is cool in the world of The Long Dog (including events, offers, updates and reviews)

Firstly what a fantastic #WaddesdonJazzClub it was last night with Vas on the sax click on the link for a video.
